Galt Gardens Pergola

Different restaurants come up with their best and most unique chili recipe and for a nominal fee, people can sample and vote for their favourites. Tickets are available at the event. Proceeds support the Southern Alberta Academy of Chefs and the Lethbridge College Food Bank

Time Capsule Opening
1 Ave S between the High Level Bridge and Lethbridge Brewery Gardens | very limited parking

Time Capsule Committee Members from 1985 along with City of Lethbridge officials and the Galt Museum & Archives celebrate history as they unearth the 25 Year Time Capsule from the Time Capsule crypt. The capsule will be immediately taken away to be opened in a safety controlled environment.

Participants will not be able to pick up their envelopes as previously planned, but will be contacted with new details.

A chance to have a fun night out with friends to see what is new in the downtown and stop by well-established favourite restaurants. Sample foods and learn about the history of the buildings. Sells out every year so get your tickets early! This event, organized and coordinated by the Galt Museum for Historic Lethbridge Festival, is the primary fundraiser of the Festival.

Plaque Dedications at William Pearce Park
Lethbridge Historical Society | Drive south on University Drive and turn left on RiverStone Boulevard or Grand River Boulevard

The plaques will honor William Pearce and examine The "Survey Story" of western Canada. There will be a surveyor with equipment from 100 years ago and a surveyor with today's modern equipment for the public to examine and compare.

This traditional painting style has been practiced for thousands of years, it is an art form that strives to distill the essence of an object or scene in the fewest possible strokes.

Bonseki Demonstration

Join us to watch this is ancient Japanese art of creating landscapes on black lacquer trays using white sand, pebbles, and small rocks. The artist uses small tools such as feathers and wood wedges to create these one of a kind pieces.

Reverend Izumi from the Buddhist Church will present an insightful and mesmerizing calligraphy demonstration. Calligraphy is the ancient art form of fine handwriting.

1940s Dance Hall Party
Galt Museum & Archives | west end 5 Ave S off Scenic Drive | A Historic Lethbridge Festival event & Galt Museum fundraiser | Limited tickets: details TBA.

We're recreating a popular form of entertainment from the 1940s - come dance the night away! Dance teachers will be on hand to teach the moves. 1940s costumes encouraged! Cash bar, non-alcoholic refreshments, snack canteen. Galt Bonds, song requests by donation, and other fun ways for people to support the Galt throughout the night. The exhibits will be open [tours available], along with a special display of typical items found in a 1940's household. We engurage everyone to dress in the 40's theme.

This disciplined art form of arranging beautiful flowers is symbolizing nature and humanity being brought together. Ikebana emphasizes other parts of the plant, such as its leaves and stems, and draws emphasis toward shape, line and form.
